This Day Ride from November 21, 2012 is a re-post from our old website:
On Wednesday, November 21st, we took another Day Ride. Our good friend, Steve Woodford, had the day off- so he rode with us. Our destination was Rogersville for lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Oh Henry’s.
We left our home in North Knoxville and to meet up with Steve at Biker Rags.
Silas, for years now, has secretly taken his own photo on our cameras when we weren’t looking. It always makes us laugh. Thought I’d share the one he took today while we were gathering at Biker Rags.
We left Biker Rags around 10:30 am and rode north on Pellissippi to Edgemoor, and continued onto Racoon Valley over to Norris Freeway. We then went north on 441 and took 170 North. We stopped along the way for a couple of photos.
We headed to 33 just above Maynardville. We took 33 North through Tazewell and then took 25E to the Veterans Overlook in Bean Station.
We continued south on 25E then took 11W North to Rogersville. We rode to downtown Rogersville where we parked our bikes and walked to Oh Henry’s.
As always, the folks were friendly and the food was great. Jeff and I both got home cooking and Steve got a cheeseburger with fries. We topped it off with some chocolate pie and left really satisfied.
After eating, we took a few photos downtown.
We got back on the bikes then rode south on 11W back to Bean Station where we took 25E south toward Morristown. We took Lakeshore Drive, which runs by the water. The gentle curves and lakeside scenery makes this road really nice to ride.
We stopped at 92 for a minute to say hi to a couple of cute cows and then rode north to Rutledge.
In Rutledge, we took 11W south and rode to Blaine where we stopped for a few photos at 61 and 331.
We rode 331 into Halls and then back to our home in North Knoxville.
We got back around 4:30 pm and our total ride was 204 miles. Steve stopped in to visit with all our fur kids before he headed home.
