On Wednesday January 18th, the rain finally slowed, the sun came out and we took a Day Ride.

Jeff kicks off the day in this short video:

From our home, we rode north on Broadway, took Tazewell Pike and rode north on 131 to Plainview where we stopped at the Marathon Station for gas and a hamburger.

And Pamo replies that you’ll know why we stopped to eat in just a minute….

Yep! Delicious!!!

The food at the Marathon station in Plainview is worth the stop and the staff is super nice.

After lunch we continued on 131 to Lutrell where we took 61, a beautiful curving winding road, to Maynardville.

From Norris Dam State Park we rode into Lake City (Rocky Top). In downtown Lake City we took Lovely Bluff Road- which is exactly what it says- a lovely road right off the Lake City thoroughfare.

Jeff takes it all in. What a great day of riding!

From Lovely Bluff, we turned left onto River Road which took us back around to Norris Freeway.

From Norris Freeway we took Racoon Valley to Heiskell and then back into Knoxville.

We got back home at 4pm and our total ride was just over 100 miles.

Always good to be home!
