This Day Ride from May 11, 2010 is re-posted here from our old website:
On Tuesday May 11th we got on our bikes and took a short day ride. We left our home in North Knoxville around 10:30 am and headed up Broadway where we stopped for gas and got on our way.
We headed north on Broadway- heading into Halls, where we took Cunningham Drive and rode by the DeBusk mansion. We stopped to get a picture of this impressive estate- but due to a blocked view and heavy traffic, we decided to try another day. We got back on the road and headed up Norris Freeway to Norris.
We stopped in downtown Norris to take a few pictures.

Then we headed to Norris Dam. We rode over the dam and stopped at the Overlook to get a few shots.

We got back on the road and arrived in Lake City- planning on having lunch- but the restaurant we were looking for was long gone. We decided to check our air pressure before continuing on.

Then we stopped in downtown Lake City to peek inside a few old buildings. Like many people, we are fascinated by old structures.

After gawking awhile, we saddled up and got on 25W heading toward Clinton. We stopped in downtown Clinton and had lunch at the Market Street Cafe.
The restaurant was very small and looked fairly new. The folks were friendly and the food was good.
After lunch- we got back on the bikes and headed back to Knoxville.
The total ride was around 67 miles- and it only took us a couple of hours. We were able to pack in a lot of sight seeing before needing to get back to the rest of our day.
