On Wednesday, October 7th, we took a Day Ride to the Foothills Parkway.
Sunny skies and warm weather made this day feel more like late summer than mid fall.
We decided to ride our smaller bikes since we didn’t need a lot of extra gear.
Jeff kicks off the day in this short video:
We left our home in North Knoxville traveling south on Broadway.

We traveled over the Henley Street bridge and stopped to admire the view.

From the Henley Street bridge, we took Old Maryville Pike to Alcoa. In Alcoa, we stopped for breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants.

After breakfast, we traveled through Maryville and took 336. 336 runs parallel and just under the Foothills Parkway.

On 129, we stopped at the Chilhowee Dam.

We then rode a short way up to the start of the Foothills Parkway.

Views from the Foothills never disappoint! Here are a few shots:

After leaving the Foothills, we traveled south on 321 back to Maryville. We then took Alcoa highway back to Knoxville.

It was a wonderful day to ride our smaller bikes and take a short ride over the Foothills Parkway.
We left our home at 10:30am and arrived back home around 3:00pm. Our total ride was 125 miles.
