DAY RIDE TO FALL CREEK FALLS

On Tuesday, August 4th, we took another Day Ride to Fall Creek Falls just west of Pikeville, Tennessee.

We left our home in North Knoxville at 9:30am. It was warm with beautiful blue skies.

We rode north through Clinton and took 61 to Oliver Springs. We rode through Oliver Springs and took 62 north to Wartburg where we fueled up and got a snack.

We then continued north on 62, rode through Clark Range and then into Monterey.

From Monterey we took 84 south- a very beautiful back road with curve after curve, perfect for a motorcycle ride.

We’re headed this way on 84.

84 took us from Monterey all the way to Sparta where we took 111 south through Spencer and on to 284 which took us right into the Fall Creek Falls State Park.

We rode to the the Inn to eat lunch at Gaul’s Gallery Restaurant.

We left the Inn and rode a short distance to the entrance of the Gorge Scenic Drive Motor Nature Trail.

After taking in all the views, it was time to get back on the bikes. We stopped on the way out the park for a few more photos.

From Fall Creek Falls we took 30 east, then 101 north which took us into Crossville.

We fueled up just outside of Crossville.

From Crossville we traveled down 70 east.

70 east took us into Rockwood where we stopped for a quick break. We continued on 70 through Kingston, Lenoir City, and finally back to Knoxville.

We got back home at 7:15pm and our total ride was 289 miles.
