On Thursday, July 30th, we took a Day Ride. Our destination was to ride through the Smoky Mountains and into Gatlinburg.
Jeff kicks off our ride in this short video:
We left our home in North Knoxville at 10:30am. It was a warm start. The temperatures were expected to climb into the 90’s.
We rode south on 129 to Alcoa where we stopped at one of our favorite restaurants.

Food at the Midland Restaurant is great and the staff makes the experience very pleasant. Next time you’re in Alcoa, stop at Midland. You’ll love it too.

73 is a beautiful road that runs through the mountains from Townsend to 441. We stopped several times along the way, including a visit to the Sinks.

From the Sinks we rode into Gatlinburg. It was packed with people and traffic. We stopped for a few photos.

After taking photos, we took 321 out of Gatlinburg and then hopped on 454 to Pittman Center.
We stopped at the Morning Mist Village, a center full of arts and crafts.

After drinking our malt and visiting the shops, we got back on the bikes.
We rode 454 to 416 into Sevierville where we took 66 to Mountain Motorsports.

Mountain Motorsports is a multi line dealership right off the interstate exit going into Sevierville.

After our visit, we got back on 66. We took 66 to Snyder Road which took us to 25/70, then to 11E and finally back into Knoxville.

We got back home at 4:15pm and our total ride was 121 miles.
Jeff wraps up the day in this video:
