Sunday was a beautiful sunny day and a great day to start out on a Fun Run! Around 40 bikes showed up at Biker Rags to depart with us on our ride.

At 1pm, we all saddle up and head out. From Biker Rags we head down Kingston Pike (Hwy 70) all the way to Kingston. There are some nice gentle curves on 70. We continue to travel to Rockwood and turn left onto 27. Here we get a good stretch of road to pick up the pace. The weather is still cooperating and we get lucky because we just missed out on a rain shower. About an hour and 15 minutes into the ride, we stop in Spring City for a rest stop and gas break.

From the rest stop, we get onto 68 and travel for a little while and ride over Watt’s Bar Dam. We then take a left on 304, riding by the water back toward Kingston- a beautiful stretch of road. From 304, we ride south on 58 and hit 72 riding toward Loudon.
With about 20 miles left in the ride, it starts to rain and it sure looks like everyone is going to get soaked. The rain slacks off for a few minutes and then it pours! By the time we got to Loudon, it was raining pretty hard and a lot of riders exited off onto I-40. The rest of us took cover at Weigels and put on our rain suits. Unfortunately, the rain ended the ride before we made it to Lenoir City, but we got to ride the majority of the route.
We so appreciate everyone who rode with us on Sunday. We had a great time and a big adventure at the end getting home in the rain.
