On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016- we took a Day Ride. We decided to ride some beautiful Tennessee backroads, enjoying the twists and turns in our area.
Jeff kicks off the day in this video:
We left our home in North Knoxville, heading north on Broadway. We stopped in Halls for gas.

We then took Norris Freeway to 61. 61 took us through Andersonville heading toward Big Ridge State Park.

Next we stopped at Big Ridge State Park.

After visiting inside Big Ridge for a short while, we got back on 61 where the roads are full of twists, turns and some extreme switch backs.
61 took us to 170, a beautiful country road, that took us just north of Maynardville to Highway 33.

We took 33 north heading toward Tazewell. First we stopped to admire the newly built TN 33 bridge over Norris Lake that has taken so many years to complete.

We then continued on 33 north into Tazewell where we took 25E heading south. 25E is one of the most picturesque roads in this area.

Along 25E, just before the Veterans Overlook in Bean Station, sits Clinch Mountain Outlook Restaurant- famous for it’s Vinegar Pie.

After lunch, we stopped at the Veteran’s Overlook, which is right next to the Clinch Mountain Lookout Restaurant, just off 25E.

After leaving the Overlook, we continued on 25E then took Lakeshore Drive heading south toward 92.

We left Grainger County Park and continued on Lakeshore Drive (highway 375) to the intersection of highway 92. Riding on 92 toward Rutledge, we stopped at Slide Effects Motorcycle Paint Shop, to see David Hurst, motorcycle painter extraordinaire.

After visiting with David, we continued on 92 to Rutledge where we took 11W South to Blaine.
In Blaine we took 61 to Washington Pike, then rode the Pike back to Knoxville and back home.

We left at 10:30am and got home at 4:30pm. Our total mileage was 146 miles.
