DAY RIDE MAY 24, 2010

This Day Ride from May 24, 2010 is re-posted here from our old website:

We took another day ride this past Monday- May 24th. We took off from our home in North Knoxville around 10am- and it was a great day- the sun was shining and the skies a beautiful blue.

We headed south on Chapman Highway and stopped to fill up with gas in Seymour.

Then we continued on to Sevierville. In Sevierville, we took Dolly Parton Parkway and got on Old Newport Highway. We rode south and got on 339 to Cosby. Once in Cosby- we stopped for lunch at Carver’s Orchard. Jimmy D. at the Harley shop recommended it- and we’re glad we listened to his suggestion.

Carver’s is really a farm with a restaurant, Candy Shop and Fruit/Vegetable stand.

The restaurant was sparkling clean and looked new. The folks were friendly. We both had the Daily Special which was chicken and dumplings- and it came with appetizers and dessert cobbler. It was so good!

After lunch, we walked around the property and took a few photos.

After leaving Carver’s, we took 321 heading toward Newport. On 321, we stopped to look at a tank commemorating Troop E and Troop K of the 278th National Guard Armory.

Jeff had been around tanks when he was in the Army- this was my first up close look.
