This Day Ride from July 28, 2009 is re-posted here from our old website:
On Tuesday July 28th, 2009- Jeff and I took another Day Ride.

We left our home in North Knoxville around 10:15am – stopped for gas on Western Avenue – and headed down Alcoa Highway toward Maryville. In downtown Maryville we took 411 North toward Seymour. Once we got to Seymour, we took Boyd’s Creek Road to 66 in Sevierville. We then took 139 and headed toward Newport.
On the way to Newport, we stopped at Douglas Dam and enjoyed the spectacular views.

Once we got back on the road we continued toward Newport, via Dandridge.

When we finally reached Newport, we stopped at the “Family Farm” Restaurant and enjoyed a great buffet with authentic home cooking.

After lunch, we gassed up the bikes and took 411 South to Chestnut Hill and jumped onto 92 heading back toward Dandridge.

After going through downtown Dandridge, we got on 25/70 West and headed back toward Knoxville. We took 25/70 to 11E and continued on till we reached Strawberry Plains at the 4 way intersection. Strawberry Plains Pike took us back into Knoxville – and we ended up back home around 3:00pm.

Our total ride was 135 miles and we got home about 45 minutes before the storms arrived.
