DAY RIDE

MAY 30, 2012

On Wednesday, May 30th, we took another Day Ride.

We left our home in North Knoxville at 10am. It was sunny and cool at 70 degrees. Our journey today was lunch in Rogersville.

We rode north on Broadway then took 131 in Halls. 131 took us through Plainview and into Luttrell where we continued north to Washburn. We stopped at a little market in Washburn for a quick snack and a few photos.

We continued north through Washburn, then took 25E. We stopped at the Veterans Overlook which has some of the most beautiful views in the area.

We got back on the bikes, rode into Bean Station and then took 11W North into Rogersville. Heading toward downtown, the streets are lined with stately historic homes. Downtown is filled with historic buildings full of character. We parked the bikes and walked over to Oh Henry's Restaurant.

The place was roomy, bright and clean. The folks were friendly and the food excellent. We both dined on the daily special (chicken casserole) and split of piece of chocolate pie.

After lunch we walked around town for a few more photos.

Then we got back on the bikes once again heading north on 11W. We looped around Rogersville and got on 66 which took us into Bulls Gap. We then got on 11E and rode into Morristown.

We then took 25E North to 375, a gently curvy road that runs along the water.

At the intersection of 375 and 92, we stopped for gas. We then took 92 North toward Rutledge and stopped at David Hurst's shop (Slide Effects) to visit and check out some paint work he's doing for another bike we are customizing.

After a short visit, we rode through Rutledge and headed back to Knoxville. We returned home around 4:30 pm with our total ride covering 176 miles.
